The Spring 2025 Newsletter #55

Prayer & Praise

Spring  2025 Prayer Points            (see the No. 55 Newsletter for full details):

  1. Prayer for Distance learning students and their instructor, Dr. Whytock. Course runs until August 1st.
  2. Pray for Dumisani’s plans to buy a house to convert to a male student dormitory by the end of May.
  3. Pray for success of the Dumisani conference on Xhosa minister the Rev. Tiyo Soga (1829-1871) to be held the first week of June. The speakers will address Soga’s theology, his life and ministry, speak on the new Xhosa edition of Pilgrim’s Progress, and on sermon preparation for Pentecost.
  4. Pray for traveling mercies for the Whytocks, Jack and Nancy, as they travel to South Africa to attend a theological educators’ consultation for Bible Schools to be held in Johannesburg, SA the 3rd week of June.
  5. Pray for the success of the above-mentioned conference – may the Lord’s light illumine speakers and attendees alike. Dr. Whytock is one of the plenary speakers and will also be conducting workshops.
  6. Pray for the success of meetings with the publishing team to go over details on Volume Two of Africa Textbook Project the end of May.
  7. Pray for the meetings and preparation work and final permissions etc. for illustrations now with the publishing team. Remember Nancy in prayer as she works on this part of Volume Two and as she DV starts sending out all galley proofs.

  8. Give thanks for 100 Bible commentaries and other Christian books sent in May to a new evangelical Christian Study Centre being established in Burundi. Pray that many preachers will be blessed as they study and use these commentaries and Bible reference works and other books.

  9. Give thanks also that five new textbooks on Acts have been donated for distribution to colleges in Africa. The first of these is to be given to Dumisani when the Whytocks travel there in May/June. Pray that teachers and lecturers will find this textbook  a helpful resource in teaching the book of Acts and that it will encourage serious study of God’s Word.
